Terms of Service
Last updated 13 October 2026
These terms cover the Symphony music app and the Symphony Discord bot ("Symphony"). By using either, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use Symphony.
What Symphony is
Symphony is a free, personal project. The app plays and organises music; the Discord bot plays music in a voice channel for the people in it. Both find music on third-party services such as YouTube and Spotify. Symphony does not host or own any of that music.
Using it fairly
You agree not to:
- use Symphony to break the law or anyone's rights, including copyright,
- record, redistribute or sell music played through Symphony,
- spam commands, try to overload the bot or its host, or get around its limits,
- use Symphony in a way that breaks Discord's Terms of Service, Community Guidelines or the terms of the music services it uses.
Server owners and moderators are responsible for how the bot is used in their servers.
Music and other services
Songs, artwork and lyrics belong to their owners. What is available depends on YouTube, Spotify and the other services Symphony uses, and can change or stop without notice. Their own terms apply to your use of their content.
Availability
Symphony is provided free and as is. It may have bugs, skip songs, stop working, or be changed or shut down at any time. The bot may leave a server or refuse to play when it needs to, for example when it is idle or a service blocks it. Access can be removed from anyone who misuses it.
No warranty and limited liability
Symphony comes with no warranty of any kind. As far as the law allows, its developer is not liable for any loss or damage from using it, or from not being able to use it.
Privacy
The Privacy Policy explains what Symphony uses and why.
Changes
These terms may be updated. The new version is posted here with a new date, and using Symphony after that means you accept it.
